I'm not exactly what you would call a traditional gal. I see myself reflected in women's magazines about as frequently as in Drill Bits Weekly. (Boring but evidently quite lucrative!) I've never sewed anything or dated anybody in eight minutes. I hate diamonds (sorry again, DBW!) and I don't diet. So what kind of chick am I? What do I do for fun? Is it possible for a female human to relax without $115 facials and chamomile aromatherapy? And what about traditions, rituals, symbols, and signifiers?
So Make It Up is a blog about me strapping on my lip gloss and figuring the rest out as I go along. And it's funny, damn it, because I am a stand-up comedian and a pissed-off feminist, both of which generally indicate that a person is extremely hilarious.
